We employ both large and medium format cameras to capture high definition imagery at resolutions from 1cm to 40cm in either RGB or RGBI.
All imagery is fully orthorectified to the highest specification and ready for use in downstream Geographical Information Systems (GIS) or CAD software packages.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
Any project where an overview is required can benefit from recent aerial imagery.

LiDAR provides terrain information with an accuracy of 50mm to 200mm even under vegetation.
The firm completed its first LiDAR survey in 2005 and has acquired extensive experience in the field over hundreds of projects.
We own two custom built leading edge sensors and are able to deploy both on a single project when required.
Professional stereo collection remains the most accurate method for line mapping and topographic vector data collection, far more so than simply mapping from orthophoto. Measurements can be made with an accuracy of a few centimetres in height and position.
Our firm maintains seven workstations for this task and is able to handle large or small projects with this capacity.

WE CAN TAKE THE HEAT
Our firm uses thermal surveys for fire mapping and vegetation health assessments and heat loss assessments. With an accuracy of less than a degree even small changes can be detected.
For fire mapping both above ground and subterranean fires can be monitored as well as the heat from stockpiles and mine dumps.
WGS has designed and built a proprietary oblique imaging system using five, 50Mp sensors for a combined 250Mp acquisition resolution. At full speed, this system generates 578Mb/second at 3cm resolution. Typical applications are for urban areas for valuations, insurance and strategic planning but can also be used for quarries where information is required about vertical faces.
There are two delivery options available to clients. The first is to be able to view the oblique frames in a GIS environment. This can either be done in 3rd party software that we can provide or any other common GIS.
The second option is to supply a complete 3D model. This requires specialised software for viewing and interacting with but provides a far more immersive experience.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
Sites anywhere in the world where it is too far to cost-effectively bring a traditional aerial survey aircraft.
WGS has designed and built its own strut mounted pod for aerial surveys where it is not cost effective to mobilise a traditional aerial survey aircraft. The pod is FAA, CAA and TCCA certified to be mounted on Cessna’s 172, 182 and 206. Currently the pod can be fitted with any combination of aerial image sensors. It is anticipated that the pod will be available with high end LiDAR by the end of 2020.
Our clients need to be able to extract useful geographical information from our surveys and we are able to help put spatial data to work. We can advise and assist in the purchase and implementation of systems from the single farmer to enterprise level. As our company is not tied to any one Geographical Information System (GIS) package we feel that our strength lies in our independence and can openly direct clients in the most appropriate direction.
Our company is also able to continue assisting clients right through to implementation. A combination of local knowledge and programming skills mean that we are able to customise most applications and can write specialised applications that can convert and integrate spatial data from almost any source either as a one-off or on a continuous basis.
COURSES:
OUR BEST CLIENT IS AN EDUCATED CLIENT
In order to extract useful geographical information from spatial data, it is necessary to put it to work. WGS is able to assist with training to leverage spatial data in order to provide the information necessary to make the right decisions.
The training our firm offers varies from 1 on 1 custom tuition on specialised aspects of aerial survey to regular online group training sessions on GIS.
