Modular Sensor Integration for Maximum Efficiency
WGS employs a modular system design that allows the seamless integration of multiple sensors to maximize efficiency during surveys. This approach enables WGS to adapt to the specific needs of each project, ensuring all required data can be captured in a single flight. One notable example involved a survey over an industrial effluent site, where RGB, infrared (IR), thermal imaging, and LiDAR sensors were all utilized concurrently. This careful integration of technologies reduced operational costs and provided a comprehensive dataset for analysis.
The success of such missions relies on meticulous system design, calibration, and operation. By ensuring that all sensors are synchronized and calibrated, WGS achieves the precision needed to combine their outputs. Each sensor captures unique data, yet when processed together, they contribute to a unified, enriched understanding of the surveyed area. Merging Datasets for Comprehensive Analysis
Following data collection, each sensor’s imagery is processed independently to maintain its inherent accuracy. The final step involves combining these datasets, ensuring consistency and alignment between them. For instance, during the industrial effluent site survey, thermal imagery was resampled using bicubic interpolation to match the 10cm/px resolution of the RGB orthophoto. This precise alignment allowed the two datasets to be merged seamlessly, resulting in an augmented thermal orthophoto.
Enhanced Insight Through Integrated Data
The augmented thermal orthophoto provided an enriched view of the site, combining the visual clarity of the RGB imagery with the temperature-based insights of the thermal data. This integration enabled detailed analysis of heat patterns, structural features, and environmental conditions. By combining multiple datasets into a single product, WGS delivers actionable insights tailored to the unique requirements of complex projects.
